Privacy policy
Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in our company. The protection of your data is of the utmost importance to us. With the following information on data protection, we would like to inform you about the purposes for which and the extent to which we collect and process your personal data when you use our websites and how we protect your privacy when you provide us with your data.
Responsibility
Wilhelm Ewe GmbH & Co. KG (Volkmaroder Str. 19, 38104 Braunschweig, phone: +49 531 37 00 5-0, e-mail: info@ewe-armaturen.de) is the operator of this website and, as the controller within the meaning of Art. 4 (7) GDPR, is responsible for compliance with the applicable data protection regulations.
The personal data of our users are stored and processed by us in compliance with the relevant regulations, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Act on Data Protection and Privacy in Telecommunications and Digital Services (TDDDG) in the respective current versions. All personal data is only collected for specified, clear and legitimate purposes and is not stored for longer than necessary.
Personal data
Personal data is individual information about the personal or factual circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person (e.g. name, date of birth and contact details).
Websites
As soon as you visit our websites, our web servers temporarily store each access in a log file. The following data may be recorded and stored until automated deletion: IP address, date and time of access, transferred data volumes, messages about the success of accessing the web pages, identification data of the browser and operating system used, the website from which access is made and the IP address of your Internet access provider. This data is processed for the purpose of enabling the use of the websites, system security, technical administration of the network infrastructure and optimisation of the Internet offering. This is to be regarded as a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
Other data collection
We collect, store and process your personal data (e.g. first name, surname, address, e-mail address, fax or telephone number) if a business relationship exists or is to be established, e.g. as part of an order, as well as when the content of and changes to the business relationship are made. We also use your personal data if you have provided it to us and have consented to the processing of your personal data. Furthermore, we collect, store and process your personal data if you contact us by telephone, fax, contact form or by sending us an e-mail, insofar as this is necessary for the processing of your enquiries and correspondence. The personal data collected by us will be deleted immediately as soon as it is no longer required for this purpose, unless there are statutory retention periods.
Product enquiry
If you intend to order our products, you can use our website to request a quotation for the products you have selected. In order to process this enquiry and any subsequent processing of the order, it is necessary for you to provide some personal data in an enquiry form. Accordingly, we process the personal data you provide in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR to request a quotation and, if necessary, to process your order. The required data is marked with an asterisk.
You also have the option of providing voluntary information. We obtain your consent for the corresponding data storage of your voluntary information as part of the enquiry process. The legal basis for data processing is therefore Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR. The personal data will not be used for other purposes. You have the option to withdraw your consent at any time by sending an email to datenschutz@ewe-armaturen.de. In this case, your voluntary information will be deleted. Personal data for which statutory retention periods exist due to the processing of orders placed remain unaffected by the deletion.
To prevent unauthorised access by third parties, the order process is TLS-encrypted.
Due to commercial and tax law requirements, we are obliged to store your address, payment and order data for a period of ten years. However, we restrict processing after two years, i.e. your data will only be used to fulfil legal obligations.
Contact form
If you use our contact form to send us an enquiry, the information you provide and the contact details you provide will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and for any follow-up questions. The data will not be passed on without your consent.
The legal basis for the data processing of the data provided in the contact form is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), which you have given by ticking the box in the contact form. You can revoke this consent at any time without giving reasons to the above address or electronically (e.g. by e-mail). The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data provided in the contact form will be stored by us until you request its deletion, until receipt of your cancellation or after the purpose of data storage no longer applies (e.g. after processing of the enquiry has been completed). This does not affect the statutory provisions, in particular the retention periods.
Whistleblowing system
On our website, you have the option of accessing a reporting channel and using it to submit a report to our internal reporting centre in accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG). We have entrusted a service provider with the technical provision of the reporting channel. If you use the reporting channel, you are using a Trusty AG system. Trusty AG itself does not have access to the reports submitted via the reporting channel.
By using the reporting channel, our internal reporting office will become aware of your report in the fulfilment of its tasks. Insofar as we come into contact with personal data in the process, we have taken legal, technical and organisational measures to ensure compliance with the provisions of the data protection laws.
Passing on the data
We use your personal data within Wilhelm Ewe GmbH & Co. KG. Our external service providers who carry out data processing on our behalf are contractually obliged within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR to treat personal data in accordance with the applicable regulations. Insofar as these companies come into contact with your personal data, we have taken legal, technical and organisational measures and carried out regular checks to ensure that they comply with the provisions of data protection laws.
If you find links from other controllers on our website (e.g. to our social media presences or Google Maps) and click on the link, you are using the website directly from the respective controller, so our data protection provisions do not apply to this website.
As a matter of principle, we do not transfer your personal data to a third country or to an international organisation outside the European Economic Area (EEA). If we do transfer data in individual cases, this will only take place to third countries for which an adequacy decision has been issued by the European Commission or the appropriate level of data protection has been ensured by suitable or appropriate guarantees (e.g. Binding Corporate Rules or EU standard contractual clauses).
We reserve the right to transfer your personal data to authorised bodies if we are obliged to do so by law or by court order.
Your personal data will not be passed on to other third parties.
Cookies
On our websites, various information is stored in so-called cookies, which serve to make the application more user-friendly and the Internet offer more effective overall. In addition, the data stored in a cookie makes it unnecessary to repeatedly fill out forms. The cookies we use are time-limited and are deleted regularly.
You can independently manage the acceptance of cookies from our websites in your browser and block them if necessary. You can also delete cookies that have already been set at any time. You can also find out about the possibility of deactivating cookies in the settings of your chosen browser. If you do not accept cookies, this may lead to restrictions in the use of our websites in individual cases. Please note that if you delete your cookies, you may also have to reactivate any opt-out cookies that have been set.
We recommend that you delete cookies and your browser history manually on a regular basis.
We only use technically necessary cookies on our websites. Technically necessary cookies are those that make it technically possible to use the website. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.

Our newsletter
On our website you have the opportunity to subscribe to our free newsletter. The only mandatory information for sending the newsletter is your e-mail address. You are also welcome to provide us with your surname and first name. If you provide us with your surname and first name, this information will be used to personalise the newsletter. The data you provide will not be passed on to third parties.
We use a so-called double opt-in procedure to subscribe to our newsletter. This means that once we have received your registration, we will send you a confirmation e-mail to the e-mail address you have provided, in which we ask you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you do not click on the link contained in the confirmation e-mail within 24 hours, your registration will be automatically cancelled.
If you confirm your wish to receive the newsletter, we will store your data until you unsubscribe from the newsletter or revoke your consent. The sole purpose of storing your data is to be able to send you the newsletter. Furthermore, we store your IP addresses and the time of registration and confirmation in order to prevent misuse of your personal data.
The consent you have given has the following wording: "I agree to receive advertising from Wilhelm Ewe GmbH & Co. KG advertising in the form of the regular newsletter by e-mail."
You can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter at any time. You can declare your cancellation by clicking on the link provided in every newsletter (see footer), by email (newsletter@ewe-armaturen.de), by sending a message to the contact details given in the legal notice or on our website.
If you cancel or unsubscribe from the newsletter, your data will be removed from the newsletter distribution list and then deleted completely. If we have also collected your contact data (surname, first name and e-mail address) in the context of other business relationships, the respective retention periods apply in this regard.
We use Newsletter2Go, a service provided by Sendinblue GmbH based in Berlin, as our newsletter software. Your data is therefore transmitted to Sendinblue GmbH as part of the newsletter mailing process. This company processes the personal data exclusively on our behalf. The use of personal data by Sendinblue GmbH for other purposes is contractually excluded.
You can find more information here: https://www.newsletter2go.de/informationen-newsletter-empfaenger/
Newsletter tracking:
We would like to point out that we use tracking pixels to evaluate your user behaviour by means of our newsletter. Tracking pixels are one-pixel image files that link to our websites and thus enable us to evaluate your user behaviour. These are also implemented in the links contained in the newsletter.[A1] The analysis is carried out by collecting your data (click on the links), which is then assigned to your email address and linked to a unique ID.
The data is collected exclusively in pseudonymised form, i.e. the IDs are not linked to your other personal data, so that direct personal identification can be ruled out.
We store the data collected through tracking on our server in Germany.
You can object to tracking at any time. You can declare your objection by clicking on the link provided in every newsletter email (see footer), by email (newsletter@ewe-armaturen.de) or by sending a message to the contact details given in the legal notice.
Tracking is also not possible if you have deactivated the display of images in your e-mail programme by default. In this case, however, the newsletter will not be displayed in full and you may not be able to use all functions. However, if you display individual or all images manually, the above-mentioned tracking will take place.

For this purpose, we work together with Creditreform Boniversum GmbH, Hammfelddamm 13, 41460 Neuss, from whom we receive the necessary data. For this purpose, we transmit your name and contact details to Creditreform Boniversum GmbH. The information pursuant to Art. 14 GDPR on the data processing taking place at Creditreform Boniversum GmbH can be found here: www.boniversum.de/eu-dsgvo.
Data security
We have taken extensive technical and organisational operational security measures to protect the data transmitted by you against unauthorised access and misuse by third parties. - Right to information,
- Right to rectification or erasure,
- Right to restriction of processing,
- Right to object to processing in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR,

You also have the option of complaining to a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data. The data protection supervisory authority responsible for us is "Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover".
